So, I have visibility from the rear, and my full low beams are already on, so the DRL's are not going to trick me into thinking I have my lights on when I don't. In fact, I am quite fond of my DRL's because they turn on the HID's and the taillights.

I have the factory HID's, and my car still has DRL. I ended up turning my lights on almost all the time in my last car anyway (didn't have DRL).Ģ. It's also good for morons who don't think to turn on their lights in inclimate weather, or dusk. Why does everyone want to disable their DRL's? How is this a bad idea? Any way I can make my car more visible is a good thing (especially with Chicago drivers). A while ago there's a post about fitting the d2r holder to non HID.ġ. I guess that "cap over the bulb" helps reducing glare, but it should under the xenon gas discharge point (corrent me if i am wrong) becuase you want to minimize the amount of light goes to the lower half or the reflector.ĮDIT: to OP, as others said, housing are the same for HID or non HID 92x. However, the amount of this glare is considerably minmum if you compare it to Civics(H4 housing) with drop in kits. I haven't used D2R yet but for what I am using now(H1 xenon bulb/drop in kit), there's some amount out glare above the beam cut off line. I think krazykarguy is referring to the little piece of glare shield that's built in to the D2R bulbs, which we don't have in our H1 HID or Halogen bulbs. One question that I have always had was is the D2S bulb sufficient, or would a kit with the D2R bulb be more suitable for our application since it made for a reflector housing rather than the projector like the D2S bulb? Thanks.

This is why the drop in kits work so well. ErichCS has done extensive research (read as bought a ton of headlight housings) and found no difference whatsoever between the HID and non HID housings and reflectors. The regular halogens have this cap as well. I haven't closely inspected a non-HID headlight, so I don't know if they are the same. There seems to be a cap over the bulb inside the headlight housing/reflector.
